A team of GOHE members completed a mission trip to Lagos, Nigeria, in December 2018. The goal of this trip was to bring together Neurodiagnostics professionals from across Africa to form the first African Neurophysiological Society (ANS). Delegates from Cameroon, Nigeria, South Africa, Ethiopia, and Tanzania met in Lagos to learn new techniques in Neurodiagnostics from top educators in the field. At the conclusion of the learning sessions, this group founded the ANS.

Our ANS History

It all begins with an idea. An idea that can spark a change, make an impact, and bring people together. In 2018, the GOHE and other partners had an idea to create the first African Neurophysiology Conference. This idea was born out of a conversation between several organizations, and it would bring together professionals from over seven countries in Africa. With
input from various founding members, the ANS was born. The founding members included

The conference was also an opportunity for professionals to learn about the latest advancements in neurophysiology’s and how they could be applied to improve healthcare in Africa.
